If you have a big dream or a vision but often get to the end of the day and realize that you didn't make any progress toward it (again!), you are my people.
Hi, nice to meet you. I'm pretty sure we'll get along well.
My not-so-secret superpower is that I can move quickly from dream to action in ways that don't extinguish your passion.
I love to "translate" between creative visionaries who feel called toward something that matters, and the realities of getting things done in the real world.
It's all about becoming a master of the change process in ways that fit your own personal work style.
How it all began
While serving as a youth director at two large churches in Minnesota, my favorite part was training and coaching the teen and adult leaders. One thing lead to another, and I became a national board certified life coach.
My decade of coaching individuals supports my other passion: telling stories as an actor on stage and screen. (Any other multi-passionate people out there?)
As a way of combining my skills in acting and coaching, I made occasional videos for my clients, and even launched a series of video-based online courses. One course was called “Big Picture Big Purpose.” Some of those early videos are here on this website.
My academic grounding is in two master’s degrees, one in youth and family ministry and one in organizational psychology, but I feel like a whole lifetime of positions have also prepared me: camp counselor, youth director, corporate trainer, non-profit board member, convention planner, social media maven, and child wrangler.
Yep, child wrangler.
That’s the actual job title for the person who oversees underage actors in professional musicals.
How it all works now
Now my life is coach by day, actor by night, with time on the side to travel, spend time with lifelong friends, and never miss one of my niece's dance recitals.
I also serve as a leader of the ELCA Youth Ministry Network Extravaganza, an annual event in cities across the country. They give me a cool headset for those events, so of course I stick around.
My exact calling changes as I evolve into new roles, environments, and communities. Yours will, too. That's why I've had many repeat clients over the years.
In the past decade, I've taught work habits to hundreds of world changers such as small business owners, ministry professionals, career changers, and other non-profit leaders. We connect through one-on-one phone calls, group video chats, and live retreats across the country to focus on creative planning, workable systems, healthy habits, and sustainable self-care.
I'm thankful to have partnered with leaders at these and other fine institutions.
Here's a little snippet of the way I teach change management to large groups through an educational story called "The Change Management Church Mice."
Want to know how the story ends, or talk about how the next chapter of your story might unfold? Let's set up a time to talk.
